Hyderabad: City-based couple Vijay Goud and Swetha have set off on a ride on their Benelli TRK 502x from Hyderabad to promote road safety and responsible riding. Their destination, Kashmir via Kanyakumari!

The couple’s ride was flagged off from Hyderabad by MLA Arekapudi Gandhi on March 4 and their chosen route will be through Pondicherry, Rameshwaram, Kanyakumari, Kochi, Ooty, Mangalore, Goa, Mumbai, parts of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab and J&K.

Vijay and Swetha will be covering about 10,000 km spreading their message along the East Coast and the West Coast and up north straight to Kashmir. “We have not decided on the route to return to Hyderabad yet, but we plan to be back by March 20,” says Vijay, who runs a popular motovlogging YouTube channel ‘Ride with VJ’.

Right now in Goa, the couple has finished the first leg of their ride and will be riding to Mumbai and up north next.

Sharing their experiences of the ride so far, Vijay tells us how their protective riding gear has saved their lives. “We were hit by a bus in Tamil Nadu and thanks to our riding gears, we are safe,” he said, stressing on the importance of responsible and safe riding.

On the challenges in the journey, he says the drastic differences in climate from place-to-place and booking of hotel rooms at short notice are some of the biggest challenges they are facing.
