The 22-year-old woman, hailing from Domalaguda in Hyderabad, had lost her parents, and reached the UAE on a visit visa and worked in a supermarket in Abu Dhabi. There, she was befriended by a 30-year-old Pakistani man. He allegedly lured her the promising her a regular visa and also proposed to her, according to her. They got married and the marriage was solemnized by an Abu Dhabi court.

After a few months, her husband sent her to Hyderabad after she conceived to see her family and to return soon on a regular visa. However, he went incommunicado after that, while the recent Indo Pak border tensions further compounded her concerns for the future of the upcoming child. She alleges that her husband blocked her number and then blocked the dialling code as well for Indian numbers, making it impossible for her to reach him.

However, after several efforts, she finally managed to communicate with him and he asked her to reach Qatar. Believing in him, she reached Doha only to find that he had again gone incommunicado. Panicking, she began asking for help in Qatar to facilitate her travel to UAE to meet her husband. However, her Qatar visa, which was for 48 hours, was about expire and with her about to reach the 36th week of pregnancy, her air travel also became an issue.

After realising rigid rules with a newborn on visit visa and without details of the husband in addition to financial concerns, she finally decided to return home with the help of Indian Embassy in Qatar and reached Hyderabad on Friday.
