Hyderabad: NRI arrested for cheating woman on pretext of marriage
The woman from Ameerpet and the suspect V Shashank met in Bengaluru and became friends
Hyderabad: The SR Nagar police arrested a young NRI on charges of cheating a woman on the promise of marriage and fleeing abroad.
As per available information, the woman from Ameerpet and the suspect V Shashank met in Bengaluru and became friends. Eventually, Shashank promised to marry and continued live-in relationship with her.
According to the police, two years ago, Shashank told the woman left to the United Kingdom to pursue higher studies and promised to return and marry her. However, after moving abroad, he started avoiding her and blocked her phone number.
The woman approached the SR Nagar police and lodged a complaint in December 2023. Based on it, a case was booked and a lookout notice was also issued against Shashank.
Following a tip-off that Shanshank was returning to India, the police reached the RGI Airport and nabbed him on arriving in Hyderabad.
