Sangareddy: Hyderabad-based Animal Warriors Conservation Society (AWCS), which has a rehabilitation centre at Ameenpur in Sangareddy district, has decided to place over 200 water bowls to quench the thirst of birds, stray animals across Hyderabad, Sangareddy and Karimnagar districts. The AWCS, which has been working for the protection of animals and birds in the State for a few years now, has purchased over 200 water bowls in the first phase for the cause. Speaking to Telangana Today, Founder of AWCS, Pradeep Nair said that the volunteers of AWCS will keep them at important places across Hyderabad.
On request, the AWCS founder has said that they will distribute the same bowls to responsible citizens, to place them in their locality. He further informed that they will assign the job of keeping the water bowls filled with the water round the clock to some responsible citizens in the locality. As the mercury levels were going up, Nair said that the stray dogs, birds and even wild animals will find it difficult to find the water as most of the water bodies went dry. Since the temperatures will peak during April and May months, he said that they will get a number of calls from citizens on dehydrated birds, and animals. To do their part in protecting the animals, Nair said that they have decided to place the water bowls. He further said that they were willing to distribute more water bowls on demand.
