Hyderabad’s Nizam College, IIT Kanpur qualify for national semi-finals of NTPC Electron Quiz
NTPC conducted the Regional Round (South) of its Electron Quiz in Hyderabad, with 259 teams participating. Nizam College won the Grand Finals, followed by IIT Kanpur and Vishwa Vishwani Institute. The top two teams will compete in the National Semi-Finals in New Delhi

Hyderabad: The Regional Round (South) of the NTPC Electron Quiz was conducted on Tuesday at Hyderabad under the aegis of SRHQ, NTPC Ltd. The event witnessed participation from academic institutions across the Southern region.
A total of 259 teams registered for the competition, which was conducted by quizmaster Gautam Bose, representing Greycells Pvt Ltd. The quiz engaged participants in intellectually stimulating rounds designed to test their analytical ability, current affairs knowledge, and scientific awareness.
At the outset, SN Panigrahi, CGM (HR) – NR & South, welcomed all participants and highlighted NTPC’s continued contribution towards nation building, sustainable growth, and the development of the younger generation through knowledge-driven initiatives like the Electron Quiz.
The event comprised a Preliminary Written Round, from which the top six teams qualified for the Grand Finals. In an intense and closely contested final, Nizam College, Hyderabad emerged winner, followed by IIT Kanpur as runners-up, while Vishwa Vishwani Institute secured the third position.
The winning team received prizes worth Rs 60,000, runners-up Rs 40,000 and second runners-up Rs 20,000. The 4th, 5th and 6th positions received prizes worth Rs 8,000 each, according to a press note.
The top two teams Nizam College and IIT Kanpur have now qualified for the National Semi-Finals to be held in New Delhi, where they will compete against other leading institutions from across the country.
