Hyderabad’s Sree Krishna Priya enters semis at Polish Open

The youngster got the better of Simona Pillgard of Denmakr 21-14, 21-13 in the quarterfinals

Hyderabad: Hyderabad badminton player Sree Krishna Priya Kudaravalli recorded a straight-game victory to make it to the semifinal of the Polish Open, in Poland on Saturday.

The youngster got the better of Simona Pillgard of Denmakr 21-14, 21-13 in the quarterfinals. She will now take on second seeded Krishtina Kuba of Estonia for a place in the final.

Earlier, Krishna Priya rallied to beat Sweden’s Edith Urella 17-21, 21-16, 23-21 in a tough first-round clash. In the second round, she downed a fighting Tereza Svabikova of Czech Republic 21-14, 18-21, 21-16.

Speaking after her quarterfinal victory, she said that she had worked hard on her strengths and weaknesses during the lockdown period.
