He alleged that the HYDRAA was taking decisions unilaterally without considering the permissions and the documents issued by revenue department, GHMC and the HMDA
Hyderabad: Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy on Thursday questioned the actions of HYDRAA and alleged that the State government, without any plan or policy, was demolishing structures on lake beds and buffer zones creating fear and confusion among the people.
In a letter addressed to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Kishan Reddy alleged that the HYDRAA was taking decisions unilaterally without considering the permissions and the documents issued by revenue department, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA). Stating that the State government should have discussed the issue with all the stakeholders and then taken a decision, Kishan Reddy asked the government to take action against the officials responsible for granting various permissions.
“We do not support encroachments and illegal constructions. We want the government to act legally, fairly and in accordance with the principles of natural justice. Especially in the case of the poor and middle class. For decades GHMC and HMDA were collecting taxes and now suddenly people’s houses have become illegal. Where should they go? What would happen to the poor and middle class people? They have taken loans. Who will repay them? he asked.
The Union Minister urged the government not to issue any special directions to banks and non-banking financial institutions (NBFCs) to take decisions contrary to the existing lending norms as it would affect the housing sector.
