HYDRAA sees surge in nala encroachment-related complaints during Prajavani
Residents from Durga Province Colony, Ameenpur municipality complained that due to nala encroachments, their colony gets completely inundated during monsoons.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) has witnessed a considerable increase in the complaints during the Prajavani programme held at its office here on Monday.
Most of the complaints highlighted encroachments on nalas and government land. Out of the 58 complaints that were received, over 60 percent of them were related to nala encroachments, a statement from HYDRAA said, adding that most complaints claimed that over 50 percent of the nalas were encroached.
Residents from Durga Province Colony, Ameenpur municipality complained that due to nala encroachments, their colony gets completely inundated during monsoons.
In another complaint, colony residents claimed that Langer Houz Cheruvu has shrunk to 24 acres from its original spread of 36 acres due to encroachments.
Residents also complained that Maktha Mahaboobpet Cheruvu at Miyapur had been encroached upon. They also submitted that five acres of government land (survey no: 44/5) was encroached upon and 12 shutters had been built.
The value of the encroached government land is estimated to be Rs. 300 crore, the residents claimed in their complaint.
Residents at Pragathi Nagar Colony, Dammaiguda, Medchal-Malkajgiri complained in another report that a piece of land that was earmarked for a park had been encroached upon.
