Hyderabad: Telugu actor Aadi Saikumar admits that he is a private person and hates socialising. The son of prominent South Indian actor Saikumar, Aadi isn’t active on social media and says, “Everyone has their own way of killing time, and I do it by watching television and web series of thrillers and suspense dramas.”

As his movie ‘Atithi Devobhava’ is up for release this Friday, Aadi Saikumar says the story has an inherent emotional quotient which will surely impress audiences this time. He plays the role Abhay Ram in the film who suffers from the phobia of being alone. “He unknowingly treats his guests as Gods. And how Abhay tides over the fears he has over the course of time is the story. There are flashbacks sporadically in the film which define his character, mother-son sentiment and romantic sequences are the highlights of the film,” says the actor.

After playing the action hero and the boy-next-door characters in most of his films, Aadi got to play a different personality in ‘Atithi Devobhava’. “My emotions are portrayed in a very subtle and novel way. I’ve underplayed it just to bring that new and refreshing look. The comedy track between actor Saptagiri and me will be hilarious to watch. Hopefully, my film will do well this Sankranti as there are no major releases at the box office. And I hope collections might pick up during the weekend considering the second Saturday,” he adds.

Aadi agrees that some of his films have suffered a setback earlier because of wrong dates. “Some had the wrong release date. The timing is always crucial while releasing films. Films like ‘Rough’ and ‘Chuttalabbayi’ had the right dates and have done reasonably well.”

Among some interesting film projects that are under way, the actor is confident about his emotional romantic drama ‘Tees Maar Khan’. Starring Paayal Rajput in the lead, the film is being made on a commercial template with an emotional plot point. Another upcoming film ‘Amaran In The City’ is based on visual effects. It’s a content-driven flick and actor Avika Gor is the leading lady opposite Aadi in it. A crime thriller titled ‘CSI Sanatan’ is nearing completion while Telugu-Tamil bilingual ‘Jungle’ will commence shooting this Sankranti.
