Hyderabad: The Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Eatala Rajender scotched reports that there were differences of opinion between himself and the party state unit president and MP Bandi Sanjay.
Participating in a meet-the-press organised by the Telangana Journalists Union here on Thursday, Rajender asserted that there was perfect coordination among the BJP leaders in the State.
Answering a query, Rajendar also scotched reports that he would shift to the Congress and asserted that he would continue in BJP only. He said he would continue to work for the development of the party and ensure that the BJP was voted to power in next Assembly elections in the State.
“After taking into account all the factors, I decided to join the BJP,” he said, adding that some elements were spreading rumors against him stating that he might join Congress. When his attention was drawn on how the party would come to power when there are no prominent leaders in several Assembly constituencies, Rajender said the TDP established by the former Chief Minister NT Rama Rao faced a similar situation.
However, people supported Rama Rao, who later became the Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh. “Ultimately, it is the people’s support that is needed for any party to win the elections,” he said. He said there were several reasons that forced him to leave the TRS. “I did not quit the party but was forced to leave,” he said while replying to another question.
