Hyderabad: The infamous piracy platform ‘iBomma’, which had previously come under the police scanner, has reportedly resurfaced online.

Earlier, following complaints from members of the Telugu film industry, including producers and directors, the Hyderabad Police had conducted an extensive investigation and arrested the prime suspect, Imandi Ravi, apart from taking down several piracy websites during the subsequent crackdown on piracy.

However, with the alleged reappearance of the platform, the Anti-Video Piracy Cell of the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce had again lodged a fresh complaint with the Hyderabad Cybercrime Police. Based on the complaint, police registered a case and are investigating.

It is learnt that Cybercrime officials identified a few IP addresses linked to the piracy operations and suspect that the website’s servers or origins may be based abroad.

Meanwhile, the city police have also written to Google management seeking further technical details and assistance in tracing those behind the illegal streaming network.
