Hyderabad: Many a time, Idli is considered to be a boring breakfast, especially for kids. However, this unique ‘Idli innovation’ by a restaurant in Bengaluru has left several netizens stunned at the idea while also leaving kids wanting to taste it.
Now, entrepreneur Anand Mahindra is also among those who found the new style of serving idlis to be unique. Wondering what it could be? Well, as per the picture shared by Anand Mahindra, idlis are moulded in the shape of an ice cream on a stick – which can be dipped into sambar or chutney and be eaten like an ice cream.
Tweeting the photo of the idli innovation, the Mahindra Chairman wrote: “Bengaluru, India’s innovation capital can’t stop its creativity from manifesting itself in the most unexpected areas… Idli on a stick—sambhar & chutney as dips…Those in favour, those against??(sic)”
For obvious reasons, the picture soon went viral on Twitter with over 18.3K likes. As Anand Mahindra quizzed his followers whether they are in favour of the twisted breakfast style or against it, several netizens commented in favour of the idea.
“Ha ha ha. Poor Idli. But when Rice n bread can be made n eaten in many innovative ways.. Why can’t Idli be modernized n ReFormed.. After all… “Why should Bread have all the Funn?” Jokes apart, I think innovative is the key to growth and kids gonna love this(sic),” a user commented.
“For a fraction of second I thought it was ice cream, I had a minor heart attack,” quipped another.
However, many also didn’t approve of the new serving style. “I am all up for innovation…but few things…we should let it be…these dishes are living fossils… sorry to say…but they are sure to be doomed(sic),” wrote a user. “Use hand’s that’s our way Indian way(sic),” wrote another.
Well, what are your thoughts about this idli innovation?
