Hyderabad: Sreenidhi Deccan Football Club’s impressive run came to an end in the final after going down to Real Kashmir FC 1-2 to emerged runners-up of the IFA Shield, at the East Bengal Ground on Wednesday.
Playing the tournament for the first time, SDFC remained unbeaten to reach the final. David Munoz put the Hyderabad side in the lead with a 29th minute goal and looked like sealing the victory. However, the match took a dramatic turn in the dying moments. Real Kashmir’s Fran Gonzalez scored the equaliser in the 90+3 minutes before another goal in the 101st minute seal the fate of the game.
The team will be seen in action next in the Hero I-League which is scheduled to begin from December 27.
