Hyderabad: To speed up immunisation amid a rise in Covid cases across India, IHH Healthcare announced Gleneagles Global Hospitals partnership with Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech to provide Covid-19 vaccines.
Three of the IHH Healthcare institutions in India – BGS Gleneagles Global Hospitals (Kengeri, Bengaluru), Gleneagles Global Health City (Chennai) and Gleneagles Global Hospitals (Lakdi-ka-pul, Hyderabad), will rollout this initiative and widen the vaccination drive for the younger population, between the ages of 18 and 44. The vaccination drive will extend to other hospitals within the network later in the month.
This partnership comes at the backdrop of the Government of India’s announcement of a liberalised and accelerated Phase 3 Strategy of Covid-19 Vaccination from 1st May. IHH Healthcare will make the vaccination available through its hospitals, special set up at corporates and residential societies.
“Apart from the vaccination drive at our hospitals, our focus is also to include larger communities through our corporate vaccination programme and camps at residential complexes. To reiterate – even after the vaccination, it is important to follow all Covid-related safety measures and protocols,” stated Shriram Vijayakumar, CEO, IHH Healthcare India.
IHH Healthcare India – Gleneagles Global Hospitals will continue to provide Covid vaccine to people in the age group of over 45 through the government-subsidised vaccination scheme.
