IIT Hyderabad announces October cohort of Applied AI certification programme

IIT Hyderabad has announced the October cohort of its four-week Applied AI Professional Certification Programme, beginning October 24. The hybrid course covers AI agent development, retrieval, orchestration, evaluation and deployment, with hands-on projects, mentoring and a professional certificate.

Hyderabad: The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT Hyderabad) has announced the October cohort of its Applied AI Professional Certification Programme, beginning on October 24. The four-week programme offers working professionals an opportunity to move beyond using Generative AI tools and learn how AI applications are designed, built, evaluated and operated for real-world deployment.

The programme will run from October 24 to November 14, 2026, in a hybrid format, allowing participants to attend instructor-led sessions either on the IIT Hyderabad campus or online. The course combines lectures with guided learning, hands-on labs, project development and mentor support, enabling participants to apply what they learn throughout the programme.

Following a “learn, apply and build” approach, participants will progressively develop a single production-style AI agent application. The curriculum covers tool use, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), memory, orchestration, multi-agent systems, observability, evaluation, guardrails and deployment.

The programme concludes with project demonstrations and feedback. Participants who complete the prescribed labs, assessments and other requirements will receive an IIT Hyderabad Professional Certificate.

The ongoing cohort has attracted working professionals from across the globe and multiple industries, with the October edition continuing in response to demand.

The programme will be led by Dr Praveen Tammana, Dr Ashish Mishra, Dr Anupam Sanghi and Dr Abhijit Das, faculty members in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Hyderabad, along with NVSS Koundinya, an industry practitioner and AI Solution Architect.
