Sangareddy: Indian Institute of Technology-Hyderabad (IIT-H) is only the second IIT in the country to have a 14-inch telescope after IIT-Kharagpur. The telescope was set up on the roof of Block ‘C’ (Academic).
The giant telescope will be inaugurated on August 15 on the occasion of Independence Day by Dr BN Suresh, Chancellor, Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Trivandrum. The telescope will help students, researchers and faculty to pursue astronomical research. Director of IIT-H BS Murty said the institute was happy to get the facility inaugurated by Dr Suresh who has made a great contribution to space research in India.
