Sangareddy: Indian Institute of Technology-Hyderabad (IIT-H) has got a new pincode – 502284 – with the Postal Department opening a new sub-post office at the staff towers-1 at the institute premises on Thursday. The post office will serve the needs of the premier institute, its staff, students and faculty.
Speaking on the occasion, S Rajendra Kumar, Chief Post Master General, Telangana Circle, said they have two head post offices, 43 sub-post offices and 253 branch post offices in Sangareddy Division which covers the entire Sangareddy district and part of the Medak district.
He said the new sub-post office at IIT will deliver mails to the institute that were received from across India as well as other countries. Rajendra Kumar has elaborated the benefits of various small saving schemes and insurance policies the postal department is offering.
Besides these, the CPMG said the Sub-post officer will also provide unique facilities like Aadhar Enabled Payments System (AEPS) that allows transactions from bank accounts.
Prof BS Murty, Director, IIT-H and Dr PVS Reddy, PMG, Hyderabad and others were present.
