IIT-Hyderabad hosts half marathon in Sangareddy

Adding inspiration to the occasion, Poorna Malavath, the youngest female to summit M't Everest, graced the event as the chief guest.

Sangareddy: The IIT-Hyderabad Runners Club hosted the IIT-Hyderabad Half Marathon 2024, a landmark event celebrating fitness, resilience, and community spirit, on the premier institute’s campus at Kandi in Sangareddy district on Sunday.

Over 1,500 participants competed in three race categories Marathon 21.1 km, 10K Run, and 5K Fun Run.

Adding inspiration to the occasion, Poorna Malavath, the youngest female to summit M’t Everest, graced the event as the chief guest.

Sangareddy SP Ch Rupesh joined as the guest of honor. He emphasized the importance of fitness and discipline, applauding IIT Hyderabad for creating a platform that fosters health and wellness alongside academic excellence. The Director of IIT-H Prof BS Murty and others were also present.
