IMD-Hyderabad cold wave warning: Temperatures to plunge 4 degree C below normal
A cold wave is expected to intensify across Telangana, including Hyderabad, over the next two days. The IMD has warned of temperatures falling 3–4°C below normal, with several districts likely to see minimums between 5°C and 10°C.

Hyderabad: Cold wave conditions are set to intensify across Telangana, including parts of Hyderabad, over the next two days. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD)-Hyderabad on Thursday, in its cold wave warning, said “Minimum temperatures are likely to be below normal by 3 degree C to 4 degree C, at isolated pockets during next 2-3 days over Telangana”.
The IMD-Hyderabad has issued a cold wave alert for several districts, including Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Mancherial, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Vikarabad, and Kamareddy districts. The minimum temperature in these districts is expected to range between 5 degree C and 10 degree C. Other regions in the State will see slightly higher ranges, fluctuating between 10 degree C and 15 degree C.
The chill was already evident early on Thursday morning. According to data from the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), city outskirts like Moinabad and Ibrahimpatnam in Rangareddy district recorded lows of 6.5°C and 7.5°C, respectively.
Some of the other regions that recorded minimum temperatures (in degree Celsius), between Wednesday night and Thursday early morning, include HCU, Serilingampalli (8.1), Moula Ali (9.4), Rajendranagar (9.5), Gachibowli (11), Gajularamaram (11.4), Jeedimetla (11.6) and Alwal (12).
The districts that recorded minimum temperatures include Komaram Bheem Asifabad (5.7), Sangareddy (6.4), Rangareddy (6.5), Adilabad (7.7), Vikarabad (8.1), Siddipet (8.1) and Medak (8.5).
