IMD issues heavy rain alert for Telangana from June 23 to 28
The IMD has issued a heavy rainfall warning for Telangana from June 23 to 28, signalling a revival of the southwest monsoon. Several districts are likely to receive heavy showers, thunderstorms and gusty winds, while temperatures are expected to decline.

Hyderabad: In a clear sign of changing weather conditions and revival of the southwest monsoon in Telangana, the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad issued a heavy rainfall warning from June 23 to 28.
For June 23 and 24, the heavy rainfall warning (64.5 mm to 115.6 mm), has been issued for Adilabad, KomuramBheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Medak and Kamareddy districts.
For June 25, heavy rainfall warning has been extended to Jagtial, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Vikarabad and Sangareddy districts.
From June 26 to 28, a general heavy rainfall warning is given for Telangana. “Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated places over Telangana. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) are very likely to occur at isolated places over Telangana,” IMD, Hyderabad said.
The weather forecast has also indicated gradual decrease in maximum temperatures by 2 degrees Celsius to 5 degrees Celsius in the next five-days.
The day time temperatures across all the districts are expected to range between 36 degrees Celsius and 40 degrees Celsius.
The IMD, Hyderabad has also issued a severe thunderstorm warning with lightning and gusty winds has also been issued for Adilabad, KomuramBheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, Jogulamba Gadwal districts for Monday.
