Hyderabad: In a reprieve from the sweltering heat of April, Telangana is expected to receive summer rains from Thursday. A yellow alert has been issued by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD)-Hyderabad.
After days of dry and hot weather, the State can look forward to welcome light to moderate rain or thunder showers. According to the IMD forecast for coming days, rains are very likely to occur at isolated places over Telangana on Thursday and last till Saturday.
As a result, officials issued a yellow alert for three days from April 14 to 16, for most districts in the State including Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad, Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem, Nirmal, Mancherial, Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Medak, Sangareddy, Medak and Vikarabad.
The city too may witness a partly cloudy sky with the possibility of the development of thunder lightning.
“For the next 48 hours, the city may see a partly cloudy sky. Thunder clouds are likely to develop towards evening/night. Surface winds are likely to be Southerlies with wind speeds around 04-06 kmph. Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 38 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively,” IMD-Hyderabad stated.
