Jagtial: Collector G Ravi instructed officials to implement Dalit Bandhu scheme in the district in a planned manner. He reviewed the implementation of the scheme and Covid-19 vaccination with the officials concerned here on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, Ravi said that to develop the Dalit community on all fronts, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao launched Dalit Bandhu scheme. It is being implemented in Vasalamarri of Yadadri Bhongir district, Huzurabad of Karimnagar, and four other mandals in the State.

Government has decided to provide Dalit Bandhu benefit to 100 beneficiaries from each assembly constituency in this financial year, he said and advised officials to select beneficiaries based on the suggestions by local MLAs and with the approval of the Minister.

Local MLAs have already selected 93 beneficiaries in Korutla, 50 in Jagtial, 45 Dharmapuri and 30 beneficiaries in Choppadandi constituency. Asking them to provide a mandal-wise selection list, the Collector wanted officials to verify the details of beneficiaries at the ground level.

Special officers, MPDO and Tahsildhar should verify the details of beneficiaries. Stating that there was no restriction, he said that beneficiaries could select units according to their wish. Collector wanted the officials to assist Dalit in selection of units.

Beneficiaries could select two to three units with the amount sanctioned under Dalit Bandhu scheme. Three to four SCs could select a big unit by forming a group. While collecting the details of beneficiaries, the details of units also should be selected, he said and directed officials to form Dalit Bandhu committees. Collect the details of committee members from MLA and take approval from the Minister, he advised.

The Collector also instructed officials to open new bank accounts of beneficiaries.
