IndiGo operations continue to be impacted
IndiGo faces widespread flight disruptions due to crew shortages and FDTL restrictions, causing delays and cancellations at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and across India. Passengers report long queues, missed appointments, and poor communication, while DGCA seeks operational details
Hyderabad: IndiGo, continued to grapple with severe operational disruptions even on Friday, with on crew shortages and Flight Duty Time Limit (FDTL) restrictions resulting in another day of widespread delays at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) and cancellations across the country.
Passengers at major airports reported long queues, uncertainty, and last-minute schedule changes throughout the day.
At RGIA, atleast 43 arrivals and 49 departures were disrupted, leaving several passengers stranded or forced to rebook on later flights. Many complained of inadequate advance communication from the airline and congested terminals due to bunching of delayed services.
IndiGo’s crew scheduling has been under stress since early this week.
While the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has sought operational details from the airline, IndiGo has been issuing advisories urging passengers to track real-time flight status before heading to the airport.
The disruptions have sparked frustration among passengers, many of whom alleged to have missed business meetings, medical appointments, and connecting international flights.
Several took to social media seeking refunds, alternate travel arrangements, and better communication from the airline.
The airline has yet to provide a full estimate of how many flights have been affected nationwide.
