Nirmal: Minister Allola Indrakaran Reddy thanked Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for sanctioning funds of Rs 48.83 crore for up-grading Nirmal Area Hospital as a 250-bedded facility. The government issued an order granting the funds on Wednesday.
Indrakaran Reddy said that the government was giving paramount importance to public health and accordingly, it had released the funds. The area hospital was converted into a district headquarters hospital, but relevant infrastructure was not created. However, the hospital would be upgraded as a 250-bedded facility with the help of the grants, besides offering better medical services, he remarked.
The Minister expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for releasing the grant. He stated that the tendering process would be initiated soon and steps were going to be taken for commencing the works. Both doctors and supporting staffers would be increased once the hospital was upgraded. Modern medical equipment would also be created for the convenience of the public, he said.
