Indrakaran Reddy urges public to strive for national unity

Minister called upon the public to rededicate themselves to achieving integrity and unity of the country, cutting across sections

Nirmal: Forest Minister Allola Indrakaran Reddy said the Dalit Bandhu scheme which Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will roll out on Monday, was formulated after taking suggestions from public representatives and experts.

Speaking at the 75th Independence Day celebrations held at NTR mini stadium here on Sunday, the Minister called upon the public to rededicate themselves to achieving integrity and unity of the country, cutting across sections. “We achieved freedom due to matchless struggles and sacrifices of many,” he stated.


The Minister said that the Dalit Bandhu scheme was meant to uplift weaker sections and bring them into mainstream apart from making them a apart of the development story of our country. The initiative has been introduced not only for the good of the State but also India. Telangana State is standing as a role model to the country by implementing a slew of schemes. Dalit Bandhu will show the way to the country, he opined.

Indrakaran read out the progress of various developmental activities undertaken by the government. He handed over certificates of appreciation to police officers for discharging outstanding services and top performing officials of various departments.

He later inaugurated an RT-PCR centre at the district headquarters hospital. Zilla Parishad Chairperson K Vijayalaxmi, Collector Musharraf Ali Faruqui, In-charge Superintendent of Police Ch Praveen Kumar, Nirmal municipal chairperson Gandrath Eshwar and Additional Collector Hemath Borkade were present.

Meanwhile, Government whip Gampa Govardhan and A Gandhi were chief guests of Independence Day celebrations held in Adilabad and Kumram Bheem Asifabad district centres, respectively. They were joined by local legislators Jogu Ramanna, Rathod Bapu Rao, Athram Sakku, Koneru Konappa. Collectors Sikta Patnaik, Rahul Raj, in-charge superintendent of police M Rajesh Chandra and YVS Sudheendra took part in the celebrations.
