Bharat Biotech Founder Dr Krishna Ella going through a lab at Gitam University at Rudraram in Sangareddy district on Friday.
Sangareddy: Dr Krishna Ella, founder of Bharat Biotech, emphasised the importance of simplicity in scientific inquiry. “Think of science in the simplest language, and you will find the best solutions for the world,” he advised the students of Gitam University.
Addressing the students at Gitam Hyderabad campus at Rudraram in Sangareddy district on Friday, he encouraged young minds to observe their surroundings and ask questions, advocating for a culture of innovation that values imagination and practicality.
Dr Ella observed the world is very divided, and innovation is the key to bridging that divide. He said that innovation is the only way forward if India aspires for 12 to 15 percent GDP growth. Dr Ella lamented the current state of innovation in India, urging the audience to recognise the wealth of scientific knowledge available and to embrace the fundamentals of science.
Bharat Biotech, which began its journey with just two employees, has grown to a team of 4,000 across five locations. Dr Ella highlighted the significance of clinical research as an integral part of life and the need for a shift in perspective towards problem-solving.
Earlier in the day, Dr Ella inaugurated the multidisciplinary unit of research on translational initiatives (MURTI) on the campus. This state-of-the-art research centre aims to foster interdisciplinary research and tackle significant regional, national, and global issues. He encouraged GITAM researchers to align their basic research projects with industry needs, emphasising the importance of practical applications in scientific discovery.
