Hyderabad: The Sunday special episode of ‘Bigg Boss 5’ was dedicated to planting saplings and spreading greenery. Well, just with that we know that the guest of the episode was TRS MP Joginapally Santosh Kumar, the man behind the ‘Green India Challenge’.
Santosh Kumar, who, through his initiative, has brought several well-known celebrities to plant a sapling and take care of them, expectedly, also brought a sapling to the show which was then planted by him and the host of the reality show, Akkineni Nagarjuna.
Having planted the sapling in the show, the TRS MP, when quizzed by Nagarjuna about the total number of saplings planted under the Green India Challenge, shared that they had planted around 16 crore plants under the initiative.
Furthermore, it was revealed that Santosh Kumar had spent around Rs 3 crore for the local area development and the planting of 60,000 saplings in the area.
Having been inspired by that, actor Akkineni Nagarjuna also promised to become part of the movement and adopt 1,000 acres of forest.
Santosh had started the new trend of adopting forests by adopting around 2,042-acrereserve forest near Keesara Gutta in 2019.
