Suryapet: Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy on Saturday asked the elected representatives to instill confidence in the public on Covid-19 vaccine by creating awareness and removing apprehensions.
Launching the first phase of Covid-19 vaccination drive in the Government General Hospital at Suryapet, Jagadish Reddy urged the people of the district to cooperate with the officials for smooth completion of Covid vaccination programme.
“We have fought the pandemic jointly for the last 10 months. Let us join hands again to drive it away,” he reminded. He recalled the services rendered by sanitation workers, health workers, doctors, government employees and policemen in tackling the pandemic.
The Minister said the vaccine would be administered to 6,479 select frontline warriors at 31 vaccination centres in the district between January 18 and 31. He urged people to maintain the physical distance and wear masks though the vaccination drive has commenced.
Vaccination drive launched in Nalgonda
In Nalonda, Telangana State Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy launched the first phase of Covid-19 vaccination drive at the Government General Hospital. He said that the foresight of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in tackling the pandemic has minimised its adverse effect on the State.
He remembered the services of government officials, medical staff, police and journalists in creating awareness in the public on precautionary measures to protect themselves from Covid-19 pandemic. He said the State government has extended all required help for Bharath Biotech and other pharma companies in manufacturing the Covid-19 vaccine.
In Yadadri-Bhongir district, Covid-19 immunisation programme was commenced at Bhongir Area hospital, Government Hospital and Primary Healthcare Centre at Kondamadugu.
