Inter student falls to death from hostel building in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: An intermediate student died allegedly after an accidental fall from the hostel building of a private junior college in Madhapur on Tuesday late night.
Shiva Kumar Reddy (17), a native of Railway Kodur in Kadapa of Andhra Pradesh was studying intermediate second year in the college and stayed in the hostel on the same campus.
According to the police, the incident occurred when Shiva Kumar, tried to leave the hostel with his friends. When they found the main gate locked, they attempted to climb down using the window grills. Unfortunately, Shiva Kumar Reddy, who was the first to jump from the hostel building, lost his grip and fell from the fifth floor of the building.
Madhapur Inspector D Krishna Mohan said Shiva’s friends informed the hostel warden and they found Shiva critically injured. “He was shifted to a nearby hospital, where the doctors declared him dead,” the inspector added.
Though it is said that Shiva Kumar and his friends were trying to go out to eat biryani, police said the exact reason for their attempt to leave the hostel was unclear.
“We have questioned his friends and other students in the college, but there is no clarity yet for their actions. Case is under investigation,” the official added.
The body was shifted to the hospital for autopsy.
