Intermediate first year student dies by suicide in Khammam

Based on a complaint by the student’s father, Ramakrishna Reddy, the local police booked a case and launched an investigation into the incident.

Khammam: An intermediate first year student allegedly died by suicide after her parents told her to stay in a hostel in Khammam for her studies.

The student, Iluri Pujitha (16) of Ramanujavaram in Tallada mandal in the district recently got admission to a private junior college in Khammam. Her parents made arrangements for her stay in a hostel and she was supposed to join the hostel on June 28.

She told her parents that she was not interested in staying in the hostel but they insisted. Upset at their insistence she consumed pesticide that night and died on Saturday night while being treated at a private hospital.
