Intermediate student dies by suicide in Mancherial after being forced into studies

Mancherial: An intermediate student died by suicide in Dandepalli mandal centre on Monday night, reportedly disinterested in pursuing higher studies and depressed over being forced to join a college in Hyderabad.
Police said Ponnam Tharun Goud (18), son of Chandra Goud, hanged himself at his residence around 9 pm, when he was alone at home. His parents found him dead when they opened his room to call him for dinner.
In a petition filed with the police, Chandra Goud stated that Tharun had shown interest in pursuing business instead of academics. He became visibly upset after being admitted to an intermediate college in Hyderabad and often expressed anger towards his mother. The petition noted that he was depressed and dissatisfied with his current path in life.
Based on the complaint, police have registered a case and took up investigation.
