Internal differences between Congress leaders Jeevan Reddy, Sanjay Kumar surface again
Party MLC Jeevan Reddy humiliated after his name was missing from ledger during a meeting with Nizamabad constituency leaders; questions invite to Jagtial MLA
Nizamabad: Despite the State Congress leadership insisting on unity among leaders, internal differences continue to flare up in the party. The cold war between Jagtial MLA Sanjay Kumar and MLC Jeevan Reddy came to the fore again on Tuesday as the MLC left a Congress meeting midway.
The Congress party had organised a meeting with its Nizamabad Parliamentary constituency leaders and workers and Jeevan Reddy also turned up for the meeting. However, the MLC was taken aback to note that his name was missing from the ledger. Even after he directed the organisers to check the ledger thoroughly, his name was not listed. To make matters worse, Sanjay Kumar, who shifted loyalties from BRS to Congress recently, was invited for the meeting.
Soon after the Jagtial MLA arrived on stage, Jeevan Reddy tried to make his way towards the exit. Party leaders tried to pacify the MLC and appealed to him not to leave the meeting midway. However, humiliated over his name not being listed in the ledger, the MLC began walking out, questioning the party leaders as to how the Jagtial MLA was invited for the meeting. As he left the hall, party leaders followed him and persuaded him not to leave the meeting. Heeding to the appeal, the MLC then finally sat for the meeting.
It is learnt that the MLC later took up the issue with TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud, who was also invited for the meeting.
“For me, self-respect is more important than positions. I am being repeatedly humiliated in the party,” Jeevan Reddy is learned to have told the TPCC president.
