International travelers test negative at RGIA on Dec 7

Hyderabad: The surveillance teams of the health wing in Telangana on Monday conducted RT-PCR tests on 105 international travelers who had arrived at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport from at-risk countries. According to the Director of Public Health (DPH), Dr G Srinivasa Rao, all the 105 persons have tested negative for Covid-19.

So far, 1,910 international passengers who arrived at Shamshabad airport have been screened and underwent RT-PCR tests out of which 13 had tested positive for Covid-19. All the 13 Covid positive passengers, however, have tested negative for the Omicron variant.


Meanwhile, Telangana reported 203 new Covid infections and one fatality on Tuesday taking the cumulative number of deaths to 4,001 and the total number of positive cases so far to 6,77,341. The number of active cases in Telangana, as on Tuesday, was 3,852.

The authorities on Tuesday conducted 40,730 Covid tests of which results of 1,954 samples were awaited. A total of 160 individuals have recovered with a recovery rate of 98.85 per cent on Tuesday.

So far, a total of 2,88,41,993 Covid-19 tests have been conducted in the State out of which 6,77,341 have tested positive and 6,69,488 persons have recovered.

The Covid-19 positive cases reported from the districts included two from Adilabad, four from Bhadradri Kothagudem, 87 from areas under GHMC, three each from Jagital and Jangaon, two from Kamareddy, 12 from Karimnagar, eight from Khammam, three from Mahabubnagar, five from Mahabubabad, two from Mancherial, three from Medak, 12 from Medchal-Malkajgiri, one from Nagarkurnool, four from Nalgonda, one each from Narayanpet and Nizamabad, four from Peddapalli, two from Rajanna Siricilla, 19 from Rangareddy, five from Sangareddy, one from Siddipet, five from Suryapet, one from Vikarabad, three from Wanaparthy, one from Warangal Rural, seven from Hanumakonda, and two from one from Yadadri Bhongir.
