Hyderabad: Education Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy on Friday said that plans have been chalked out to provide Internet connection to schools in coordination with the Information Technology Department.
Replying to a question on Internet connection to every school, the Minister, speaking in the State Legislative Council, said everyone realised the importance of the Internet during the Covid-19 pandemic when classes had to be conducted online.
Stating that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao allocated Rs 2,000 crore to improve amenities in schools, she said apart from constructing buildings and library, computer facilities will also be provided in schools.
She said a committee was constituted in which she along with three other senior Ministers are members to discuss the measures to be taken to improve facilities in schools. She said the Council members could also give valuable suggestions in this regard.
