Interstate drug peddler held with 8 Kg ganja in Hyderabad

Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force (Shamshabad) and RGIA police arrested an alleged interstate drug peddler and seized eight kilograms of ganja on Tuesday. Police identified the suspect as Raj Pradhan of Odisha and said he planned to sell the contraband in Hyderabad.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force (Shamshabad) team, along with the RGIA police, arrested an interstate drug peddler and seized eight kilograms of ganja on Tuesday.

The suspect was identified as Raj Pradhan alias Gaura (22), a farmer from Bartini in Berhampur, Ganjam district of Odisha. His associate, Ram Brada, a native of Odisha, is the alleged source of the ganja and is absconding.

According to the police, Pradhan came into contact with Ram Brada and allegedly procured ganja for Rs 32,000. He was allegedly planning to sell it to customers in the city and surrounding areas at a higher price and make a profit.

Acting on a tip-off, the Task Force team apprehended Pradhan and seized eight kilograms of ganja and a mobile phone from his possession. He was subsequently handed over to the RGIA police for further investigation.

A case was registered at RGIA police station.
