Intoxicated man steals RTC bus from Jangaon, held at toll plaza
An intoxicated man allegedly stole an RTC hire service bus from the Jangaon bus stand and drove it towards Suryapet before being stopped at the Singarajupalli toll plaza. Police registered a case after the man claimed he took the bus for a test drive.

Jangaon: An incident of an intoxicated man stealing an RTC hire service bus parked at the Jangaon bus stand and causing a scene at a toll plaza came to light in the district.
According to officials, Venkanna, a native of Palakurthi, caught the depot staff off guard and drove off with the bus on Thursday night towards Suryapet. After driving the vehicle for approximately 21 kilometres, he reached the Singarajupalli toll plaza during the wee hours.
As he could not steer the bus through the toll plaza passage, he lost control of the vehicle and hit a cement block at the toll plaza several times. The toll plaza staff, suspecting something was wrong, stopped the bus and informed the local police.
Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene, took possession of the bus and questioned Venkanna. When asked why he had taken the bus from the depot, the intoxicated man simply replied that he wanted to take it for a test drive.
Officials breathed a sigh of relief as there were no casualties in the incident. The police have registered a case against Venkanna and initiated an investigation into the incident.
