Iran embassy hits back at Trump’s ‘annihilate Iran’ threat in Balayya style

Iran’s Zimbabwe-based embassy ridiculed US President Donald Trump’s remarks at the UNGA about “annihilating” Iran by posting a Tollywood film clip on X.

Hyderabad: Iran’s Zimbabwe-based diplomatic mission took a swipe at US President Donald Trump over his “threat to annihilate” the Islamic Republic of Iran during his recent address at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). 

In a post on X, the Iranian embassy in Harare claimed that they were informed that Donald Trump has changed his movie preferences from Hollywood to Bollywood. The tweet, aimed at the US President, is accompanied by a 58-second Hindi-dubbed clip from a Telugu action movie ‘Bhagavanth Kesari’.

As the tweet went viral on the microblogging platform, several X users from India were quick to point out that the clip represents Tollywood and not Bollywood, while others said instead of debating the distinction between Indian film industries, people should pay attention to the underlying political message. 

Bhagavanth Kesari is a Tollywood movie and it stars Nandamuri Balakrishna, alongside an ensemble cast of Sreeleela, Kajal Aggarwal and Arjun Rampal. 

For the unversed, in his recent address to the world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly, Donald Trump defended the Iran conflict and said he was considering whether to “annihilate” the country if a deal is not reached.
