Hyderabad: Minutes after BRS Chief K Chandrashekhar Rao laid threadbare the negligence of Congress government in completing the Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation (PRLI) project, Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy claimed that Rs 7,000 crore was spent on the project works so far.
Alleging that despite spending Rs 27,000 crore on the PRLI project, the BRS government failed to provide irrigation water to even one acre, the Minister claimed that the project’s DPR was returned by the Centre during the BRS regime in April 2023.
The BRS government gave a reply and under further terms of reference, it was featured under Godavari diversion water and Krishna water dispute tribunal, he said, also claiming that the Congress government was ‘fighting’ with the Centre to allocate 45 tmcft in the first phase under savings in minor irrigation and another 45 tmcft under the Godavari water diversion.
