Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy faces ire of women in Narayanpur
While Uttam Kumar Reddy was addressing the gathering, a few women raised their voice and questioned the Minister over the delay in completion of the Narayanpur reservoir works
Karimnagar: Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy had to face the ire of women over the delay in completion of the Narayanpur reservoir on Wednesday.
The Minister, along with Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, had participated in the Grama Sabha held in Narayanpur of Gangadhara mandal on Wednesday.
While Uttam Kumar Reddy was addressing the gathering, a few women raised their voice and questioned the Minister over the delay in completion of the Narayanpur reservoir works. Women police personnel rushed in and tried to convince them. They also took one of the women to meet the Minister.
Responding to their questions, he assured to complete the Narayanpur reservoir by including it in the list of top priority irrigation projects. Promising to release Rs.70 crore for the completion of the project, the Minister assured to supply water to ayacut lands by completing the works within one year.
He also promised to do justice to the oustees of the project. Each and every eligible person of Narayanpur village would definitely be provided four government welfare schemes, he said.
