Kothagudem: Irrigation sector witnessed a rapid growth in the TRS government’s rule, asserted Government Whip, Pinapaka MLA Rega Kantha Rao. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has given priority to irrigation and built several small, medium and large scale irrigation projects across the State during the past seven years, he said. The MLA inaugurated Pagidivagu Lift Irrigation Project built at cost of Rs 18 crore at Peddamidisileru and a similar project built at Geesarelli at a cost of Rs. 14.23 crore in Cherla mandal in the district on Saturday.
Later in the day Kantha Rao, the TRS district president, along with ZP Chairman Koram Kanakaiah and Mahabubabad MP Maloth Kavitha addressed Bhadrachalam constituency level TRS workers meeting at Cherla. Speaking on the occasion the leaders appealed to the party cadres and leaders to take the TRS government’s welfare schemes to the people. A door to door campaign has to be conducted explaining the welfare schemes being implemented to the people.
The leaders thanked the Chief Minister for introducing English medium in government schools from the next academic year. After the formation of Telangana State as many as 1000 Gurukul Schools were established offering quality education to students from poorer sections. The government has decided to strengthen the government schools across the State by spending around Rs 7289 crore towards infrastructure development under the Mana Ooru Mana Badi initiative, they said.
Katha Rao appealed to the party mandal presidents to work with coordination to win all the five Assembly seats in the district in the next elections. Mandal level meetings of the party workers would be organised soon, he added. Former MLC Shri Balasani Lakshminarayana, TRS Bhadrachalam constituency TRS party in-charge Tellam Venkat Rao, TRS party’s elected members, leaders and activists attended the meeting.
