Hyderabad: Since when Mike Tyson has been roped in for the sports film ‘Liger’, rumours of the boxing legend getting paid more than the leading man of the film Vijay Deverakonda has been doing rounds.
Well, brushing the claim off, a source close to the makers of the film, calls Vijay ‘the life of the film’.
“Vijay is the film’s life and breath. He is in almost every frame of ‘Liger’. He is the hero of the film, in the truest sense. He has been paid a very impressive fee, something that Karan Johar has never paid any newcomer. Mr Tyson will feature in the climactic fight. He is, no doubt, a legend. And he will be paid accordingly,” the source told ‘Spotboye.com’.
“You don’t know what Vijay has been paid. You don’t know what Mr Tyson will be paid. Then how do you know who is being paid more or being paid less? This is like declaring Sylvester Stallone was paid more than Akshay Kumar in that Sajid Nadiadwala production (Kambakkht Ishq),” the source added.
Vijay Deverakonda and Mike Tyson will feature in a fight at the climax of the film, ‘Liger’.
Vijay Deverakonda’s Instagram update reads: “We promised you Madness! We are just getting started 🙂 For the first time on Indian Screens. Joining our mass spectacle – LIGER The…(sic)” Written and directed by Puri Jagannadh, the sports drama, which also stars Bollywood actor Ananya Pandey, is jointly produced by Karan Johar, Charmme Kaur, Apoorva Mehta, Hiroo Yash Johar and Jagannadh under the banners of Dharma Productions and Puri Connects.
