Hyderabad: The last three times Hyderabad Football Club and Jamshedpur FC played in the ISL ended in draws. The two teams will clash once again on Monday with an eye on the top position in the points table.
Jamshedpur are high on confidence after recording back-to-back victories while Hyderabad are desperate for a victory after having pocketed just two points from their last three outings.
The Manolo Marquez coached side, however, will have to get their act together to get three points against the second-placed side in the league. Hyderabad are placed third with 17 points and a win here will propel them to the top.
Hyderabad had numerous chances in the last match against Chennaiyin FC but found the back of the net just once to split the points. Speaking about the game, Marquez said, “Yes we had clear chances and we deserved to win. It was important to create those chances ,” he added.
Hyderabad’s top scorer Bartholomew Ogbeche, who missed the last game after accumulating four yellow cards, will be available for the game and the 53-year-old Spaniard mulls putting him alongside Javier Siverio, who was very good in the last outing scoring a goal for his side.
“Ogbeche is the top scorer in the league. Seviario was our best player in the last game. Maybe I have to put both the players together for tomorrow. But let’s see.,” he added.
Speaking about Jamshedpur, the coach expects a tough competition.
“Jamshedpur are a very tough and physical team, a typical English team and like the games in the past, this will be a difficult one as well for both teams. They have strong characters like Peter Hartley, Eli Sabia and more but we will try to make it a tough game for them as well,” said Manolo.
On the rivalry between the two teams, who played out 1-1 in the previous leg this season, he added, “The three draws don’t really mean much at the moment. Both teams have strong squads and anything can happen in this game. At the moment, we are very close, even in the league table but every game is different and it is impossible to know what can happen in games like these,” the Spaniard added.
