ISRO chief Dr. V Narayanan honoured with GP Birla Memorial Award
ISRO Chairman and Secretary of the Department of Space, Dr V. Narayanan, was honoured with the prestigious G.P. Birla Memorial Award in recognition of his contributions to India’s space programme. The award, formerly known as the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Hyderabad: Dr. V Narayanan, Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Secretary of the Department of Space, was conferred with the esteemed GP Birla Memorial Award.
Formerly known as the Lifetime Achievement Award, the honour is a tribute to the enduring legacy of GP Birla, a visionary whose profound contributions to education, science and culture continue to inspire generations.
The felicitation of Dr. V Narayanan was conducted by Nirmala Birla, Chairperson of the GP Birla Archaeological Astronomical and Scientific Institute.
The GP Birla Memorial Award has a distinguished history, having been bestowed upon several eminent personalities, including 32 Nobel Laureates, among them the Indian Nobel Laureate, Dr. Venkataraman Ramakrishnan. Other notable recipients include Prof. Jogesh Pati, a renowned theoretical physicist, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, former President of India and Dr. Kasthurirangan, former Chairman of ISRO and Secretary of Space.
