Kothagudem: ITC Limited (PSPD Bhadrachalam Unit), in collaboration with ITC Mission Sunehra Kal (MSK), has developed key civil and health infrastructure facilities at MP Banjara and Sarapaka gram panchayats in the district.

These facilities were inaugurated by Pinapaka MLA Payam Venkateshwarlu along with ITC PSPD DGM (HR) Chengal Rao and senior programme manager (MSK) R Jayaprakash. The facilities included a new bus shelter at Jinkalagudem village and a public toilet facility for community use at MP Banjara Primary Health Centre (PHC).

A medical storage room, a toilet block, rainwater harvesting units, compound walls and a concrete entrance with parking facilities were also among the infrastructure developed at the PHC. Nine upgraded Primary Health Sub-Centres (PHSCs) were handed over to the Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs) along with essential medical equipment.

Speaking on the occasion, the MLA lauded ITC’s efforts in strengthening rural health infrastructure, particularly its focus on achieving National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS), and asked the locals to make better use of the facilities.

Deputy DMHO Dr M Sridhar also commended ITC for its services in the public health sector. PHC MP Banjara medical officer Dr Pavani Reddy and AYUSH medical officer Dr Jaya explained the positive impact the initiative created, said a release here on Saturday.
