ITC Mission Sunehra Kal organises Water Mela in Bhadrachalam to promote water conservation

ITC Mission Sunehra Kal organised a Water Mela in Bhadrachalam to promote responsible water use and watershed management. Around 250 farmers, Anganwadi workers and officials participated, highlighting water conservation, WASH practices and sustainable community-driven environmental initiatives.

Kothagudem: ITC Mission Sunehra Kal (MSK) has organised a Water Mela in Bhadrachalam aiming at creating awareness on responsible water use and watershed management.

Around 250 farmers, Anganwadi teachers, multi-purpose workers, community members and government stakeholders were brought together to promote water conservation and improved water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) practices.
Zilla Parishad CEO Nagalakshmi, assistant director of agriculture, B Tata Rao, Krishi Vigyan Kendra programme coordinator Dr. T Bharath, CDPO Jyothi, ITC PSPD DGM Chengal Rao, DGM (Environment) Prafulla and senior programme manager Jayaprakash took part in the programme.


Catchment farmers Madakam Rama Laxmamma, Kunjay Nageshwarao and Chekka Narasimha Rao were honoured. The staff of MPUPS MP Banjara and MPPS Anjanapuram that received Swachh Evam Harit Vidyalaya Rating (SHVR) State Awards-2025–26 for better hygiene and green practices appreciated.
Chengal Rao stressed on the need for collective action in sustainable water management towards environmental sustainability and community well-being. He highlighted the role of soak pits and kitchen gardens in groundwater recharge and environmental sustainability.
