Nalgonda: Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy will formally launch releasing of fishlings into irrigation tanks in the erstwhile Nalgonda district on September 8 for this season.
He will release fishlings into an irrigation tank at Nakrekal in Nalgonda district at 9 am. He will also attend a programme to be conducted at Bhongir of Yadadri-Bhongir district for the release of fishlings into a local irrigation tank.
According to officials of the Fisheries Department, fishlings would be released into 3,800 irrigation tanks and 12 reservoirs in the erstwhile Nalgonda district. About 6.17 crore fishlings would be released into 1,250 irrigation tanks in Nalgonda district and 4.15 crores fishlings into 1,340 irrigation tanks in Suryapet. Officials said that all arrangements were completed for releasing fishlings into 3.15 crore fishlings into 1,210 irrigation tanks in the Yadadri-Bhongir district.
