Nalgonda: Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy on Monday called upon youth to join the Indian Army to protect the country. Launching an Army recruitment rally organised by the Soldier Youth Foundation in SV College ground at Suryapet, Jagadish said that the youth should draw inspiration from the life of Galwan hero Col Santhosh Babu, a native of Suryapet, and join the Defence to serve the nation. He reminded that the Army recruitment rally was first being conducted for the first time in Suryapet. It would be a great opportunity for the youth.
He asked the parents and teachers to encourage the youth to join the Indian Army. The candidates, who would be selected in the recruitment rally, should get two months pre-recruitment training, he added. District Collector T Vinay Krishna Reddy, Superintendent of Police Rajendra Prasad, and Soldier Youth Foundation founder Col S Srinivas also attended the programme.
