Jagga Reddy booked for abusing inspector on poll duty in Sangareddy
Congress leader T Jagga Reddy has been booked by Sangareddy police after a video showed him abusing Inspector V Shiva Kumar at a polling station during municipal elections. The FIR was filed under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and TEMA following a complaint by Deputy Tahsildar K Vinay Kumar.

Sangareddy: Sangareddy town police registered an FIR against Congress leader T Jagga Reddy after a video surfaced showing him abusing Inspector V Shiva Kumar, who was on duty at a polling station in the 34th ward of Sangareddy municipality on Wednesday.
The police registered cases under Sections 223, 351, 352, 132, 329, 191(2) read with 190 of the BNS and 215(1)(b) of the TEMA. The complaint was lodged by K Vinay Kumar, Deputy Tahsildar, who was deputed as a flying surveillance team officer during the municipal elections.
Acting on the directions of the Additional Collector (Local Bodies), Sangareddy, Vinay Kumar filed the complaint after receiving video clips of Jagga Reddy allegedly abusing the police officer and after speaking to the victim at the municipal office in Sangareddy.
In his statement, Shiva Kumar said he had asked Addu, a follower of Jagga Reddy and husband of Congress contestant from the ward, Hameeda Begum, to move away from the prohibited area at the polling station to ensure peaceful conduct of polling.
He stated that Addu allegedly threatened him and warned that he would complain to Jagga Reddy. According to the Inspector, Jagga Reddy arrived at the spot a few minutes later and abused him without ascertaining the facts.
Vinay Kumar filed the complaint after recording statements and collecting evidence related to the incident. Investigation is under way.
