Jagtial: Four-year-old injured by China manja while flying kite in Metpally

A four-year-old boy sustained throat injuries after a China manja thread got entangled around his neck while flying a kite in Metpally town during Sankranthi celebrations. Police have launched a search for shops illegally selling the banned kite string.

Jagtial: A four-year-old boy Oddepu Srihan sustained injuries on his throat with China manja in Dubbavada of Metpally town.

Srihan, who came to his maternal grandparents’ home for the Sankranthi festival, was injured while flying a kite on Thursday evening. The boy sustained injuries on his throat as China manja thread got wrapped around his neck.


Family members shifted him to Metpally government hospital. Later, he was shifted to a private hospital in Nizamabad wherein he is undergoing treatment. The condition of the boy is said to be stable.

Metpally police led by SI Kiran Kumar are searching for the shops which sold China manja by violating norms.
