Jagtial: Jagtial Municipal Chairperson Boga Sravani accidentally fell into waters while immersing Ganesh idol in a tank on Sunday. The alert staff rescued her and brought her back to safety.
The Municipal chairperson along with others went to Chinthakunta tank located on the outskirts of Jagtial town on Sunday afternoon to immerse Ganesh idol.
Besides placing the idol, Sravani and few others also boarded the raft. While they were trying to move some distance to immerse the idol in deep waters, the raft suddenly tilted to one side resulting in Sravani and three others falling into the water.
When she slipped into the water body, Sravani immediately caught hold of one of the hands of the idol to avoid drowning. The alert staff, who were engaged in the immersion process, rescued the municipal chief and brought her back to the bund.
